YOUR GUIDE TO THE UNIVERSE
Find something amazing.
Bright stars shine in white and blue. Planets are highlighted in gold. Tap an object to find out what you're looking at.
Start with your city and explore the sky by dragging the map. On a compatible phone, tap Use phone compass, allow motion access and point the top edge of your phone towards the sky. Compass alignment is approximate; drag to correct it if needed.
Accuracy, permissions and data sources
The sky is calculated on your device for the chosen location and current time. Phone heading and tilt depend on device sensors and may be inaccurate indoors or near metal. We do not store your location or request the camera. Device location is optional; for children, choose a city instead. Star positions use a J2000 catalogue and are approximate over short time periods. Planet positions: Astronomy Engine (MIT); star data: HYG v4.1 (CC BY-SA 4.0); constellation lines: d3-celestial (BSD-3-Clause).
